Maxwell Frost from uber driver to Democratic nominee in Florida

MAXWELL ALEJANDRO FROST, 25, is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Florida's 10th Congressional District.

Frost was given to adoption by her biological mother who migrated from Cuba in early 1960's.

His path to politics began with a Washington, D.C. vigil for the 26 people, mostly children, killed in the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Frost has worked for political candidates like Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton after high school as community organizer. He is also member of issue-based groups like the American Civil Liberties Union and March for Our Lives.

Frost’s campaign targets issues like: ending gun violence, health care for all, environmental justice, reimagining the criminal legal system, legalizing marijuana, and decriminalizing sex work.

Frost has a working class background and strong ability to connect with people. Frost has raised $1.5 million through August 3, more than any other candidate in the field, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

He gained national attention when he confronted Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) at an event in Orlando, shortly after the school shootings in Uvalde, Tex.

Maxwell Frost was born in Florida in 1997. Maxwell is an American citizen who practices Christianity.

His father, Patrick Frost, and mother, Maritza Arbigay Frost, raised him. His father, Patrick Frost, is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer with accolades, and his mother, Maritza, is an IDP teacher at Osceola County Schools.

Frost served as a field organizer, deputy state director, and Florida state organizer with Organizing for Action, Hillary for America, MoveOn.org, Democracy Spring, and Brian Cunningham for NYC Council between the years of 2012 and 2017.
